"As I stood at the edge of the Serengeti, watching the sunset paint the savannah golden, I knew I'd found my calling.
Growing up in Simanjiro, heart of the Maasai land – the vast Steppes where wildlife roamed free – I'd been surrounded by the wild beauty of Africa.
But it was a chance encounter with a lost tourist that sparked the idea – what if I could share this magic with others?
With a backpack, a dream, and local knowledge, I, Yao Kisamo, launched 'Yao Tanzania Safaris' in 2002. No fancy office, just me, a few guides, and the vast plains.
Our first clients were backpackers, curious about the 'real Africa'. Word spread. Soon, travelers sought us out for authentic, untamed adventures.
Today, Yao Tanzania Safaris is about connecting people to nature, culture, and community. The savannah taught me: the best journeys are the ones you share”
