Philanthropy

Emboreeti Village in Simanjiro Maasai Land steppes!

Emboreet Village, located in the Simanjiro District of the Manyara Region in Tanzania, is known for being part of the Tarangire-Simanjiro ecosystem, where seasonal migrations of ungulates and elephants occur between Tarangire National Park and the village lands.

Kiloriti Campsite

Our camp is just three kilometers from the Tarangire National Park border.

As we connected to the rural areas, we educated the society that we are taking our trip into their motherlands! Sustainable tourism for a better future amongst us and the natives is our goal!

We always train natives to be our guides, and most of our guides are from the destinations we take our guests. So keep in mind that you will always be guided by the right guides who know Tanzania!

For every single trip, we share $35 from each departing trip with the natives, though we pay all fees they charge per person from each trip. These donations go directly to the village cabinet, which is under the chief control of the villagers. The donation is useful for health, water, and education projects!

Cultural & walking Safari

Our walking safari, as wilderness safaris in Emboreeti Village near Tarangire National Park, takes you on a journey through the Valley of the Maasai people. Walk along the banks of the seasonal rivers, trekking on the Oldoinyo Sambu mountain, explore ancient geological formations, Flora and Fauna identification, and be part of the village's most ambitious rewilding project about conservation.

People & land history

It is believed that it is an ancestral area with a very deep hole at the top, with caves in which our ancestors hid during tribal wars for centuries immemorial. With its diverse flora and fauna, it is rich in traditional medicines and has the best pastures during the dry season, with wild fruits for both livestock and people. Wildlife abounds, and some places bear the names of their dominant species, as in the case of Loosirwai, meaning “place of the eland.” The mountain is an attraction to people who love nature, with a spectacular viewpoint at the top that one can climb up to and enjoy the ecosystem

Guest tales about Simanjiro

Thanks to Yao, we both got to see & do so much more, especially see a true Tanzanian village life in the Simanjiro region.

Without Yao taking us & showing us this living culture, which has so changed our feelings, we have become so close to the village chief & villagers. The villagers are as talented as the children, but unfortunately, in ways that they are not recognized.

On seeing what we saw in 2017, we began doing some fundraising to help the villagers slightly improve their living circumstances, plus help the children's educational needs.  Our fundraising from home has helped get much-needed schoolbooks, pencils, blackboards, chalk, and many more items for the teachers to educate the village children.  We also helped during the year 2020 when COVID-19 hit so badly that a small but very helpful little dispensary was built from the funding we raised to help the very unwell as much as possible.

2023 was our last visit to date, which was very emotional to us both as we raised funding to get a drilled water well for the  Simanjiro village.  It was wonderful to see the clean water for all to drink with no more fears of catching anything from where the wild animals had previously drank from.  To see the villagers now sowing crops & selling some to improve their lives is incredible!
